To be used in conjunction with vapour-permeable underlay membranes and roof protection films. Also for timber frame constructions with thermal insulation systems.

Safety

  • Fabric reinforcement for extreme durability, tear-resistance and puncture resistance. Ideal for blow-in insulation

  • Prevents moisture penetration of internal heat insulation and, therefore, the impairment of the insulating effect

Technology

  • Three-ply vapour retarder with fabric reinforcement

  • Environmentally friendly since it can be recycled

Universal use

Roofs, walls and floors.

Saves time and money

3-metre-wide vapour retarder for quick installation.

Instructions

Installation instructions

  • Fix Wütop® DB 20 to the "warm" side of the thermal insulation with stapler (impact staple gun art. no. 0714 854, 0714 811 or hand-held stapler art. no. 0714 834) and secure with battens.

  • The smooth side always faces toward the installer.

  • Vertical overlaps must always lie on a rafter.

  • Ensure sufficient overlap: Horizontal overlap: at least 10 cm (overlap strip), vertical overlap: approx. 20 cm.

  • All overlapping and stapled points must be sealed airtight with suitable adhesive tape (art. no. 0992 700 050).

  • For airtight connection to masonry, the strip is bonded using Wütop® film adhesive (art no. 0893 700 100, 0893 700 110) and also secured with a clamping batten if necessary.

  • Take care not to damage the membrane during installation.

  • Before the interior cladding (plasterboard, wood panelling etc.) is attached, check again that the vapour retarder has been correctly installed and remedy if necessary.

Insulation on rafters

  • Wütop® DB 20 is ideal for use as a vapour retarder for insulation on rafters.

  • Installation: Same procedure as for between-rafter insulation.

  • Please keep in mind: May be exposed to weather for max. 6 weeks.
