Datasheets(X)
- The reflective tape is particularly suitable for use with vehicles with special rights in accordance with German road traffic regulations (StVO), such as construction vehicles, road cleaning vehicles, refuse collection vehicles, maintenance vehicles etc.
- Intended for medium-term outdoor use
- The tape can also be used to create rear marking plates in accordance with ECE Regulation 70
How to apply the tape
The surface must be dry and free from dust, oil, solvents or other chemicals.
First, measure the length of the surface on which the tape is to be attached, then cut off a segment of the corresponding length from the roll.
The tape also adapts optimally to curved contours and surfaces (surfaces with bends in two directions). However, the tape should be used in one piece only on slight bends and curvatures. For more complex curvatures, it is recommended to split the tape into smaller segments. These smaller segments should be joined end-to-end, and not overlapping. This creates the visual impression of a coherent, one-piece graphic.
The material can be easily cut with a sharp knife or rotary cutter. When using a knife, cut at a 45° angle to the surface, creating a slightly tapered edge. This prevents the tape from peeling off during washing or high-pressure cleaning. Cutting the tape directly on the vehicle is expressly advised against.
Please note that the tape must not be applied around corners and edges (e.g. wheel arches, door edges etc.) and should be cut 6 mm away from the edge.
After cutting, peel approximately 10 cm of the siliconised masking film off the tape and fold it back. After positioning and aligning the tape on the vehicle, press the adhesive-coated side against the vehicle. Then slowly and evenly peel off the tape and press down. To fix the tape in place and prevent air pockets, the tape should be smoothed from the centre to the edges with a press roller or a squeegee.
Before using the vehicle, leave the tape for 24 hours at an ambient temperature of 15 °C to 38 °C to ensure proper adhesion.
Vehicle cleaning
The vehicle should be cleaned with water and standard vehicle shampoo. Then rinse the vehicle thoroughly and let it dry. When using a high-pressure washer, the distance between the vehicle and the cleaning nozzle should be at least 50 cm. The jet should not be directed at the edges of the film.
How to remove the tape
To remove the tape, heat it with a hot air blower and carefully and evenly peel it off the base material at an angle of 30°. To avoid adhesive residue, the tape should be removed slowly and at temperatures that are not too high. If adhesive residues remain on the base material, they can be removed using a paint-compatible solvent.
